Now we are 6. After 16 years as Captain of the Crew Rudy Sunde hung up his sea-boots and retired. We gave him a party to thank him for what he had done and wish him a happy retirement. He left behind a group comprising - back row: Alex McClennan, Warren Payne, Bob Large; front row: Lew Black, Paul Howarth, John McGowan.

John McGowan returned from Australia partway through the Catlins project, too late to become involved in the recording or the tour. He did join us for a couple of our Sunday Sessions at the Museum during this time, but now that project is under our belt John has returned to full participation in the Crew, so a full muster is now Lew Black, Paul Howarth, Bob Large, Alex McClennan, John McGowan, Warren Payne and Rudy Sunde.
The Crew recruited 2 new members in January Paul Howarth and Alex McClennan, who join the existing complement of Lew Black, Bob Large, Warren Payne and Rudy Sunde.

On the downside though John McGowan left us to go live in Australia, & Gavin Asher has chosen to turn his years leave of absence into a permanent departure. Both have been key members of the group over the years and we wish them well.
Sadly, Andrew Gough has now left us to take up employment in the Solomon Islands, so now The Maritime Crew has 5 voices and they are Lew Black, Bob Large, John McGowan, Warren Payne and Rudy Sunde.
In April this year, Gavin Asher, currently on leave, married his partner Cara Gilkison and we would like to wish them a long and happy married life together.
The Maritime Crew has had some recent changes to it's lineup. John Walton has left us & new members are Andrew Gough and Warren Payne. Both Andrew and Warren are excellent singers and musicians and we are delighted to have them in the group.
After the groups performance at The Auckland Folk Festival at the end of January, long time crew member Gavin Asher is to take temporary leave of the group to work on his own projects.
